Baghlan, the ALC in Pul-e-Khumri celebrated the graduation of more than 100 students on 16 May 2016. More than 250 participants attended the ceremony, among them different important governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations, like the Directorate of Education, private and governmental universities, representatives from an Afghan cement factory, the coal factory, and several local influential’s.
Most of the 107 learners (38 female – 69 male) graduated from short-term & medium-term (3-6 months – 2 years) training courses such as Employability, English language, ITC, and Science courses.
At the beginning of the ceremony, verses of the Holy Quran were recited by one of the students. Mr. Timor Shah Etibar, ALC Education Manager, welcomed the participants and congratulated the graduates and their respective families. He informed the audience about the education programs of the ALC and thanked the teachers for their efforts to provide qualified education services for the youth of the city. He also emphasized the qualification skills and competencies the graduates obtained during the education programs in the ALC. With their new knowledge and competencies, they can contribute to the economic development of the city. This message was specially directed to the employers and company representatives among the audience and to promote the employment of new graduates
Mr. Zahir from the Provincial Security Department representative added that the future of the country depends on educated youth; he assured that the Baghlan Security Department will always to keep the province secure and stable, in order to pave the road for the young generation to study in a secure environment, to have a bright future.
Abdul Bashir Aryand, the media officer of the Education Directorate, delivered the congratulatory message of the provincial Education Director.
Abdul Rauf Stinakzai, the lecturer at the university, highlighted the role of education and of educated youth to bring positive changes in society and underlined that the ALC is well known in the city for its sound learning environment and its good teachers.
Later on, some graduated students, parents, and a few teachers also delivered their speeches. They praise and commend the quality of education services provided by ALC. One of the graduated student's parents said this center is among the best places for skills and competencies development in the city.
Samiullah, one of the graduates said that the ALC has specific assets such as qualified education teaching and learning materials and experts, this is one of the unique education centers which provides quality needs-based education services to youth.
The ALC anthem team presented some nice poems about the work of teachers and performed some theatre sketches related to education themes to the audience.
The Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE) supports a network of 22 Adult Education and Community Learning Centres in 12 provinces (Kabul, Herat, Parwan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar, Badakhshan, Samangan, Balkh, Jawozjan, Faryab, and Sar-e-Pol). These ALCs/CLCs provide professional education services for young people between 16 and 26 years of age.
The graduates enjoyed their education at the Adult Education Centres. In the end, the certificates were distributed to the graduated students and they voiced their happiness about the achievement
