Representatives of ANAFE participated in three important regional meetings to exchange about and promote the implementation of youth and adult learning strategies and policies on lifelong learning in the framework of SDG4 in the Asian region.
The first Meeting was the 7th General Assembly of the Asia South Pacific Association for Basic and Adult Education in Bangkok from 20-21 November 2016. The Assembly reflected on ASPBAE’s work over the last 4 years and gave input in to its future strategic directions.
ANAFAE is a member of ASPBAE since 2007.
Support To National Education Coalitions Building in the Asian Region
The ASPBAE’s Asia Pacific Education Coalitions Consultation Meeting was held on 22 -23 November 2016 in Bangkok to
ANAFAE recently took initiative to establish the first Education Coalition in Afghanistan.
At present Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief Organization (ACBAR), Afghan Civil Society Forum Organization (ACSFO), Afghan Women Network (AWN), Afghanistan National Teachers Council (ANTC) and Integrity Watch Afghanistan are members of the Education Coalition in Afghanistan.
Civil society plays important role in the achievement of the Goal 4 targets.
The ‘Policy Forum on Youth and Adult Learning and Education in SDG4 in the Asia Pacific‘ held in Bangkok from November 24 to 25, 2016, was a multi-stakeholder event, bringing together representatives from governments, UNESCO, education coalitions, CSOs active in lifelong learning, and donor agencies to strategize and exchange about the implementation of youth and adult learning strategies and policies within the lifelong learning framework of SDG4.
The ‘Policy Forum on Youth and Adult Learning and Education in SDG4 in the Asia Pacific’ aims – to share and develop strategies and good practices
– to transform the agreed targets and indicators of youth and adult learning and education into practices and bring systemic changes.
