Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE) held a calligraphy and drawing arts exhibition with the support of the National Gallery on Wednesday 25th May 2016 in the Solhi Omid (Peace and Hope) Garden of Afghan National Gallery in Kabul.
About 50 officials, in addition art teachers and students of the ANAFAE Adult Learning Centres (ALCs) in Kabul, artist organizers from the National Gallery and a number of media were present at the opening of the exhibition.
Around 38 calligraphies drawings and artworks of Ms. Parisa Khamosh, an artist who studied in ALC 2 was shown to the public.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Rahmani, the Director of the National Gallery and Samiullah Seerat, ANAFAE master training for art and culture.
In his speech Mr. Seerat says, “This art exhibition aims to motivate women and men to enhance their art and cultural knowledge and competences in the country.” He appreciated the support of the National Gallery for making this exhibition possible and mentioned that those artists who have been marginalized should be remembered in such exhibitions as well.
Ms. Parisa, the artist, thanked and appreciated the organizers and said that she is very pleased and proud for having the chance to present her artworks in this exhibition. Such events will motive many art students to develop their talents. She appreciated the initiative of the Adult Learning Centres and ANAFAE for provision of art education programmes. While she participated in such an art course of ANAFAE, discovered her skills and became motivated to further develop her drawing skills, now she became an artist.
Ms. Rahmani, the Director of the National Gallery, highlighted the activities of ANAFAE in the fields of art and culture and promised that the National Gallery will keep on supporting initiatives that actively promote art education and cultural values through hosting such exhibitions. These exhibitions are important opportunities, they enhance the spirits among youth and women to get interested in art and culture works. In addition, she promised to continue the cooperation with ANAFAE by provision of an exciting venue for young artists in future.
Mr. Seerat the art master trainer of ANAFAE introduced the art and culture education programme of the ALCs in 12 provinces: “We work hard to provide quality education in the field of art and culture to young generation, especially for women. ANAFAE art teachers did remarkable achievements in this area and develop many teaching and learning material so far and the exhibition today is a best example”, he added.
Seyar, one of the exhibition participants said that despite of many problems and challenges in the country, he is pleased that still such Education Organization like ANAFAE promotes art and culture. By visiting the presented art pieces, I am so much pleased and demand also other relevant organizations to support the conditions and the work of artists.
ANAFAE runs a network of Adult Education Centres in 12 provinces of the country (Kabul, Herat, Parwan, Baghlan, Kundoz, Takhar, Badakhshan, Samangan, Balkh, Jawozjan, Faryab and Sar-e-Pol). The ALCs provide professional education services to improve the employability young people, the education centres organize foreign languages courses, Konkor preparation classes to get access to higher education, education in social subjects, art and culture, and complementary support to school student in the field of science subjects.
