We Support Employment
Last year, 2014, was a historical year for Afghanistan. The Afghans were handed over the security responsibilities after most of the foreign forces and agencies related to them were shut down. This added to the number of unemployed citizens that existed before and to those who lost their jobs because of the minimization of most of the projects, largely funded by international NGOs.
In current Afghanistan, finding a job and maintaining it becomes hard day-by-day as the competition for securing a decent job has become more serious and breathtaking.
To support those who already have jobs and look for promotion or will to have their jobs secured, we continued to provide English Language, IT, and computer courses and initiated a new department more specifically focusing on this need. There were a total number of 82.571 (60.935 male – 21.636 female) trainees in the English Language and IT and Computer Department together.
The Employability Department which offers modules to support employment is another initiative of the Afghan National Association for Adult Education, ANAFAE. This department offers short-term and medium-term training modules in Office Management, Finance and Accounting, Practical Journalism, Business Administration, and Practical Networking. These short and medium-term training courses focus on a narrow field of knowledge and skills fundamentally required for the respective field of jobs.
The Employability Department started from August 2014, till the end of December it had 973(373 male- 600 female) in short-term courses and 2.706(1.889 male – 817 female) trainees in Medium-term courses.
The above-mentioned education programs are implemented through ANAFAE’s partner Adult Education Centers, ALCs, and Community Learning Centers, CLCs.
