Afghan Chamber of Commerce and ANAFAE inaugurated a new joint education programme

Unemployment among young people in Afghanistan is increasing over the years and economic growth of the country has decreased from 14,4 % in 2012 to about 2% in 2015.

While hundreds of thousand young people leave the country,the Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE) with the professional support of DVV Internationaland the Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) in Balkh developed and starteda joint education programme for around 100 students to provide better chances for job opportunities.

The programme started on January23rd, and the focus of this new education programme is on personal business skills in offices as well asinformation and communication technology for business office practical works in combination with proper Business English. The curriculum has been designed and implemented by a group of experienced Master Trainers of ANAFAE with the support of DVV International and is based on the “Expert Personal Business Skills” programme of the VHS in Germany.Additional components like business English and from Expert Computer Driving License were added. Beneficial student-centred and participatory methods and close cooperation with the employment market are keyfor this new education programme at the ACCI training centre in Mazar-e-Sharif.

The best-performing studentscan join the Job Fair Campaign Program to get job vacancies provided by Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Industries in private sectors and companies.

Sufficiently qualified graduated students who cannot join the Job Fair Campaign programme can participate in internships supportedby ANAFAE and the ACCI in order to get more work experience to enter a qualified career.
